Short Grain Rice

It is a short grain type. The grain is softer and chalkier in abdomen than the Ngasein. It can be cultivated in two regions; Ayeyarwaddy Division (Delta Region, one of the four major rice production regions) and Sagaing Division (Shwebo region, water irrigated from dams and reservoirs).

Myanmar Short-Grain Rice: Short-grain rice, named for its size, is only a tiny bit longer than it is wide.

Myanmar Short Medium Grain (Ngasein) Rice: It has an average length to breadth ratio from 2 to 3.2 times. The kernels are hard, fairly translucent, often with abdominal white.
